Frequently Asked Questions

"Our 3 most common asked questions with detailed answers

written by the person who actually does the work "

Question 1: Can I build an arena anywhere on my property ?

Yes you can , however you want to select a place that is not in a lower area prone to flooding and preferably an area that is relatively flat . If the area you want the arena has a large slope or gradient this can still be achieved however it would add further costs to cut the site and usually requires a retaining wall to be constructed prior to the arena being built

Question 2: Do I need a permit to build an arena ?

Generally No , for a standard outdoor arena you don't need a permit . A permit is usually required for an indoor arena , this is not for the actual arena surface itself but for the structure covering it. Most councils require a planning permit similar to obtaining a permit for a garage or large shed

Question 3: What surface is best for an arena ?

The best surface for an arena depends on two main things . An outdoor arena requires a surface that can tolerate water and drains well where as an indoor arena is a lot less prone to flooding and UV damage . The other consideration is the budget you have available , there are many different surface options and the costs vary considerably , we can assist you to choose an option that will fit your budget and will work for the type of arena you have
